Chase Pond led three players in double figures with 19 points as Elk Lake defeated Carbondale Area, 70-53, in a Lackawanna League Division III boys basketball game Saturday.
Brayden Miller added 13 points, 10 of which came in the first quarter when the Warriors jumped out to a 20-5 lead.
Parker Upright followed with 12 points for No. 7 Elk Lake (9-0 league, 16-1 overall), which has won 13 straight.
Cameron Williams had a game-high 20 points for Carbondale Area (1-8, 2-15), 17 of which came in the second half. Jack Moran contributed 11 points, all coming in the second half.
Scranton Prep 91, Executive Education 71: At Allentown, Packy Doherty hit seven 3-pointers and totaled 35 points to lead Scranton Prep to a high-scoring nonleague win over Executive Education.
Doherty had 26 of his points in the first half to help the Cavaliers build a 13-point halftime lead.
Three other players finished in double figures for Scranton Prep (12-3). Max McGrath added 17 points, Brody Martin chipped in 15 and Chicky Skoff followed with 11.
Western Wayne 51, Wyoming Seminary 36: At Wyoming Seminary, Ashan Stookey scored 30 points to carry Western Wayne to a nonleague victory.
Stookey had 12 of his points in the second quarter when the Wildcats (3-13) outscored the Blue Knights, 17-7, to take a 24-17 halftime lead.
Lucas Latorre led Wyoming Seminary (6-10) with 17 points.
Wallenpaupack 55, Port Jervis, N.Y. 39: At Wallenpaupack, J.P. Yeo and Nick Van Buskirk each scored 16 points to help lead the Buckhorns past Port Jervis, N.Y., in a nonleague game.
Van Buskirk had eight of his points in the first quarter when Wallenpaupack raced to a 20-5 lead. Yeo and Jaymison Ostrowski each had five points in the quarter.
Diego Adames added 12 points for the Buckhorns (6-9).
Marcus Bloom led the Raiders (7-6) with 12 points.
Pocono Mountain West 73, Scranton 57: At Scranton, Pocono Mountain West hit 12 3-pointers, including six during a 27-point outburst in the third quarter that enabled it to pull away to a nonleague win over the Knights.
K.J. Coles Jr. was one of four Panthers (10-2) in double figures with 19 points. Brady Behr followed with 17, Teddy Stiehler added 13 and Aydin Smith finished with 12. Coles and Smith each hit four 3-pointers.
Jayden Mayers had seven 3-pointers and 21 points for Scranton (6-10). Tony Battaglia chipped in 12 points on four 3-pointers. The Knights finished with 13 3-pointers.
Nativity BVM 64, Susquehanna 54: At Susquehanna, Trey Keating poured in 42 points to lead Nativity to a nonleague win.
After scoring five points in the first quarter, Keating accounted for all of the Green Wave’s points in the second quarter when Nativity outscored Susquehanna, 16-4, to take a 25-17 halftime lead. He then had 10 points in the third quarter and 11 in the fourth. He finished with 16 field goals, included six 3-pointers, and was 4 for 7 from the foul line.
Layne Pasker added 10 points for the Green Wave (8-10).
Griffin Fisk led the Sabers with 22 points, all coming in the second half. Mason Keyes followed with 15 points.
Girls
At Dunmore, Melina Cole hit six 3-pointers and finished with 20 points to lead Easton past the Lady Bucks, 52-40, in a nonleague girls basketball game Saturday.
Natalie Amato added 15 points for the Red Rovers (15-2) and Gabby Wismer chipped in 10 points.
Amanda Dempsey had a game-high 24 points for No. 3 Dunmore (13-3), 15 of which came in the second half.
Delaware Valley 62, Wyalusing 32: At Delaware Valley, Amanda Aragona had 17 points, Leah Bird 12 and Josie Lordi 11 as the No. 9 Lady Warriors beat Wyalusing in a nonleague game.
Aragona (9) and Bird (7) accounted for all of Delaware Valley’s points in the first quarter as they jumped out to a 16-5 lead.
Jenna Morningstar led the Lady Rams (9-7) with 16 points.
