The Steelers may be considering adding a new starting quarterback this offseason, especially with Aaron Rodgers possibly leaning toward retirement. However, Pittsburgh could be on a seasoned veteran’s radar.

Joe Flacco has navigated the AFC North, playing for the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals, but he could complete the AFC North grand slam.

“I think it would be strange. I do think having a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey on would be a little more strange than even a Browns or Bengals jersey, for whatever reason, but I think at this point, I’m pretty much open for most things if I can see an opportunity in it,” Flacco said Wednesday on “BMore Sports Podcast“, via Nick Farabaugh from PennLive.

Flacco played 11 seasons for the Ravens, and during that time, Baltimore and Pittsburgh had one of the best rivalries in the NFL. Both teams were at the top of the AFC North, with the Bengals and Browns usually battling for last place.

Given the intense rivalry between the Steelers and Ravens for the division title, it would be odd to see Flacco wearing a Steelers uniform. It would be like an Ohio State player crossing over to play for Michigan.

Flacco turned 41 on Jan 16. which means he could also be looking toward retiring. It wouldn’t be wise for the Steelers to pursue another quarterback over 40 when they have quarterback Will Howard, whom Pittsburgh drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft, ready to step in and play.
