James M. McLaine
OBITUARY
James M. McLaine, 75, of Scott Twp., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Marywood Heights. His devoted wife of 55 years is the former Linda Worell.
Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late John and Kathleen Casey McLaine, he was a graduate of Dunmore Catholic High School and the University of Scranton. Prior to retirement he was employed for RR. Donnelley as an accountant and later for Lackawanna County as a purchasing Manager.
James was a dog lover, and was a gifted dog trainer, earning his dogs the level of grand-champion and master hunters. He judged many dogs all over the east coast. He was also a phenomenal cook. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving are brothers John J. McLaine and wife Lisa, California, William F. McLaine and wife Ann, Virginia, Timothy P. McLaine and wife Judith Texas, sister-in-law Jeanne Worell, Scott Twp.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister Kathleen McLaine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 A.M. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel, 1605 Oram St., Scranton. Entombment Cathedral Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9 – 10 AM in the church.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
