From the early morning hours on Sunday until Monday afternoon, the sounds of shoveling will echo across the neighborhoods.
Snow blanketed sidewalks, cars and driveways left many residents racing to keep up before the next round of flakes fell.
However, for Erie residents, Andrea and Kevin Petrone, it’s nothing out of the ordinary.
“You just got to go out, and you know we constantly go out and shovel. Our neighbor next door has a snowblower, so that helps us out too,” Kevin said.
Restrictions in place for vehicles on Pennsylvania Interstates
Most residents like the snow, even if there is a lot, because it makes the city feel quiet in a peaceful way.
With Erie being at the top of the list for snowiest cities in America, most residents are used to it.
However, for people who are new to the city, locals said there is one big tip to follow.
“They shouldn’t be driving if they’re not used to it. We’re used to it, and even us being used to it, it’s slippery out when you’re coming down around here,” the Petrones said.
