ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The snow buried the roads and sidewalks in Allentown Sunday, and people have been working all day to dig out.

Others just spent the day playing in all the snow. As the snow came down, Turner St. in Allentown started looking like a ski slope. Addi Streeter said that works for her.

“I said, you know what? No one’s out on the street, looks pretty nice. Gotta try it. These are my new buddies, they’ve been skiing with us. It’s been so fun,” said Streeter.

While Streeter was carving road powder, some Muhlenberg College football players were planning some games of their own.

“Possibly some snowmen are going to be getting built, maybe an igloo, you never know what’s going to happen,” said Sean Krug.

But the snow wasn’t all fun and games. We caught Dan Jennings trying to dig out his car.

“It’s the most snow that I’ve seen in a long time, at least around here. So I’m not looking forward to all the shoveling I’m going to have to do the rest of the day,” said Jennings.

We almost had the same issue. Our WFMZ truck got stuck in the snow, and took some effort to get out, but it wasn’t a real emergency. That’s what Battalion Chief Sean O’Neill was prepared for at the Allentown Fire Department. He was responsible for clearing the roads for the fire trucks.

“We run plows. We have four of them in the City right now. We’re not plowing streets, but we’re just available for calls with the rest of the engines to try and get them down those streets,” said O’Neill.

Making sure roads like Turner St. were passable, but Streeter said, until the plows came, she enjoyed her ski slope.

“It’s been so fun. I might take one more run,” said Streeter.
