OBITUARY
Mary Beth “Molly” Krater Dinneen, 83, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, at the Yale New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus. She was the beloved wife of the late James Dinneen. Molly was born in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania on August 4th, 1942, and was the daughter of the late John and Edith Heim Krater. Molly graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School in 1960 and later went to earn her bachelor’s degree in 1964 from Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Once she moved to Connecticut, Molly went to earn her master’s degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University. Molly was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years in the Orange Public School System until her retirement. Education was her passion and she always found a new way to teach the young lives around her. For over 25 years, Molly volunteered for the Yale British Arts Museum, was a docent for the Yale Peabody Museum, participated in educational programs for CRIS Radio, and even voice recorded textbooks for many years to assist the blind. She also enjoyed traveling and took many trips around the world with her husband. Molly was an avid watercolor painter and enjoyed many kinds of arts and crafts. She also loved her cats, baking, gardening, golf and was a member of the Mount Carmel Women’s Golf League, the JC Women, and devout and lifelong member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in New Haven. Molly is survived by her siblings, Faith Ann (Gil) Delaney and John Krater III, her nephews, Robb and Jesse Delaney, as well as several other nieces, nephew’s great nieces, and great nephews. She also leaves behind her friend and caregiver, Andrea (Michele) Tarantino, who was like a daughter to her and always there for her when she needed it.
