The brackets are set for the District 2 Class 3A and 2A wrestling duals tournaments, and Hazleton Area and Honesdale are the No. 1 seeds.

The Cougars will serve as one of the host sites for Wednesday’s quarterfinals and semifinals for the Class 3A tournament, while the Hornets host the rounds in 2A.

Wallenpaupack and Hanover Area are the No. 2 seeds in 3A and 2A, respectively, and will serve as the other host sites for Wednesday’s quarterfinals and semifinals, which are all scheduled for 5:30 and 7 p.m.

The quarterfinal winners will face off later Wednesday night, with the semifinal victors advancing to Saturday’s finals, which are scheduled for 12:30 p.m., at the site of the higher seed.

The winner of each class advances to the state tournaments, which start Feb. 3.

Class 3A

Host Hazleton Area (9-1), who placed second in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 1, will face No. 8 North Pocono (6-9), while No. 4 Wilkes-Barre Area (10-3), the WVC Division 1 champion and the only team to defeat Hazleton Area this season, takes on No. 5 Pittston Area (15-5).

At Wallenpaupack, the Buckhorns (14-4), who placed second in Lackawanna League Division I, face No. 7 Crestwood (8-13), while No. 3 Abington Heights (12-4), the Lackawanna League Division I champion who handed Wallenpaupack its only league loss, takes on No. 6 Delaware Valley (7-10).

Class 2A

Host Honesdale (16-3), the Lackawanna League Division II champion, faces No. 8 Montrose (8-11), while Lackawanna League Division III champion No. 4 Blue Ridge (14-7) wrestles No. 5 Valley View (10-9).

At Hanover Area, the Wyoming Valley Conference Division II champion Hawkeyes (14-5) face No. 7 Berwick (6-9), while No. 3 Tunkhannock (8-3) takes on No. 6 Mid Valley (4-4).

District 2 Class 2A quarterfinals

Wednesday at Honesdale

1-Honesdale (16-3) vs. 8-Montrose (8-11), 5:30 p.m.
