ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The City of Allentown lifted its snow emergency at noon today.

Vehicles may once again park along snow emergency routes as crews continue snow cleanup operations.

City officials say the primary focus has shifted to secondary streets and it could take a couple of days before all city roads are fully cleared.

Residents should note that snow may remain on streets even after plows have passed, especially on secondary streets and alleys.

Cleanup crews have experienced delays due to snow being pushed back into streets, which slows plowing efforts. Residents are reminded to avoid placing snow back into the roadway after plows have passed.

Residents are urged to begin clearing snow from sidewalks in accordance with city ordinance.

The Allentown Fire Department will be clearing snow from fire hydrants throughout the city. Residents are encouraged to assist by clearing snow around nearby hydrants to ensure access in case of an emergency.

Trash and recycling collections scheduled for Monday and Tuesday night have been canceled. More information can be found at allentownpa.gov/curbside.

All City of Allentown offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 27.

Residents are encouraged to call the Snow Hotline, (610) 437-7669, for updates on snow clearing operations.
