ALSACE TWP., Pa. – Officials in Berks County say at least one death can be linked to the snowstorm that blew through the region this weekend.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office confirmed that a 78-year-old Alsace Township man suffered a cardiac event and died following shoveling.
The man’s identity is not being released at this time.
This comes on the heels of three snow-related deaths in neighboring Lehigh County.
Residents are reminded to take frequent breaks when shoveling snow and to ask for assistance when possible, especially older adults or those with heart conditions or other medical concerns.
