ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A two-alarm fire destroyed one home and heavily damaged a second one on Adams Island in Allentown Monday night.
The alarm was sounded just after 6:30 p.m., and crews arriving on scene reported flames coming from one structure, according to 911 dispatchers.

Multiple fire departments responded to battle the blaze.
The Allentown Fire Department said one firefighter had minor injuries but was already back to work.
Snow made it difficult for crews to get close to the fire, the AFD said.
In addition, Adams Island only has one fire hydrant, the department said, and it was not nearby.
