EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A 24-year-old man from Pennsylvania was arrested Sunday in East Hartford after he allegedly drove the wrong way on Route 2 and caused a crash, according to state police.

The crash happened on Route 2 Eastbound in the area of Exit 2B. Nolan Murphy-Genoa, 24, was driving the wrong way when he crashed into another vehicle that was operated by a 20-year-old woman, according to state police. She was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuries.
State police said that Murphy-Genoa fled the scene after the crash, but was later located and taken into custody. He showed multiple signs of impairment in his speech and actions, police said.
He was charged with DUI, reckless driving, evading responsibility, wrong way driving and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Murphy-Genoa was released on a $5,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 29.
