As the United States approaches its 250th birthday this July, Pennsylvania is already preparing.
America 250 PA is Pennsylvania’s official commission tasked with coordinating the commonwealth’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary.

Monday night, the organization stopped at Penn State Behrend to officially kick off the celebration for Erie County and highlight events.
This is day nine of the commissions 14 day trip visiting each of the 67 counties in the state.

“We think it’s really important that every county has contributions that have played into the overall Pennsylvania and American story. So we are here and we’re visiting each to highlight those contributions and to really engage their residents,” said Cassandra Coleman, executive director of America 250 PA.
Several local and state politicians attended to present their celebration plans.
