On Tuesday, Gov. Josh Shapiro appeared on “The View,” saying that multiple cities in Pennsylvania, including Lancaster, will be prepared for a large-scale ICE operation amid the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minnesota. Shapiro has repeated this stance in recent weeks. During an interview with Solomon Jones earlier this week, Shapiro said, in part: “I can tell you that we’ve been engaged on the front lines legally, in the courtroom, of protecting our Guard, so that our National Guard is not deployed against my wishes onto the streets of our cities. We’ve done numerous, what we call ‘tabletop exercises’ or ‘preparation exercises’ to try and make sure that, should unwanted personnel be sent into our communities, that we be prepared on how to deal with that, both in a courtroom and on the streets.”
