Dave Matthews Band returning to Western Pennsylvania on 2026 summer tour
IT WAS A MUCH CALMER SCENE TONIGHT. DEVOTED FANS OF THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND SAY THIS IS WHAT A TYPICAL SITUATION AT THE PAVILION AT STAR LAKE LOOKS LIKE. THE ANTS MARCHING IN FROM ROUTE 22 ONTO ROUTE 18 AND THEN INTO THE VENUE IN TIME FOR THE SHOW, A MUCH DIFFERENT STORY THAN STAR LAKE’S FIRST SHOW OF THE SUMMER EARLIER THIS MONTH. I WOULD LOSE MY MIND. I MEAN, I HEARD IT WAS LIKE FOUR HOURS. AND SOMETIMES PEOPLE DIDN’T EVEN GET IN. I’D PROBABLY TURN AROUND AT SOME POINT. I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE CAME THAT MAYBE DIDN’T HAVE TICKETS AND WE’RE JUST HERE WITH CLOGGING UP THE TRAFFIC AND PARKING, YOU KNOW, JUST TO COME AND HANG OUT AND WHATEVER WITHOUT TICKETS. I THINK THAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A BIG ISSUE WITH THAT SHOW IN PARTICULAR. COME ON. WANT TO KNOW? COME ON. BUT MEAN SOME GAMES OF CORNHOLE. LISA AND DENNIS MCMAHON TOLD US HOW PUMPED THEY WERE FOR THEIR FIRST DAVE MATTHEWS CONCERT. BUT TO THEM, DEAD AND COMPANY IS A RELIGIOUS ONE. THEY MANAGE TO ESCAPE THE TRAFFIC NIGHTMARE A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO BY GETTING HERE SEVERAL HOURS EARLY AND THEY DIDN’T HEAR ABOUT WHAT WENT WRONG UNTIL AFTER THAT CONCERT. SAW TO START THE SEASON OFF LIKE THAT WAS BAD, BUT I THINK IT’LL RECOVER ANY OF THE YEAR WOULD BE LIKE WHAT DEAD WAS WHAT LAST YEAR WHEN WERE DEAD HAPPEN RIGHT AND IT WAS THE FIRST SHOW OF THE SEASON TOO. SO YOU HAD KINKS TO WORK OUT TO AFTER MANY OF YOU TOLD US ABOUT YOUR TRAFFIC TROUBLES, THE PAVILION AT STAR LAKE ACKNOWLEDGED THE FRUSTRATION AMONG FANS AND SAID THEIR CREW WOULD BE REACHING OUT TO PAYING CUSTOMERS WHO ENTERED THE VENUE AFTER THE START OF THE SHOW, ADDING THAT THEY’D BE MAKING IMPROVEMENTS TO THEIR PARKING OPERATIONS. PENS PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS 4 DID NOT HEAR ABOUT ANY ISSUES A COUPLE DAYS LATER, WHEN HANK WILLIAMS PERFORMED, BUT DMB FANS TOLD US THEY’D BE FOOLS TO THINK THIS COULDN’T HAPPEN TO THEM. BASED ON WHAT I WAS HEARING AFTER A RECENT EVENT OR TWO. HERE IT WAS GET HERE BEFORE THE GATES OPEN. WE WANTED TO GET HERE BEFORE IT GOT A LITTLE CRAZY, BUT WE LEARNED FROM OTHER PEOPLE’S MISTAKES SOMETIMES. SO WE CAME EARLY TODAY AND WE DON’T EXPECT TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. ONE DAVE MATTHEWS FAN TOLD US TODAY IS LIKE A NATIONAL HOLIDAY FOR HER AND HER FRIENDS. AND FORTUNATELY, THEY GOT TO OBSERVE IT WITHOUT ANY DISRUPTIONS. REPORTIN
