ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Allentown officials say snow cleanup operations continue across the city following the recent winter storm.

Crews are focusing on removing snow from some primary roadways, while continuing to clear secondary roads and alleyways.

Today, crews are focused on clearing snow off the west side of 7th Street from the city line to Union Street. Additional planned snow clearing operations include:

4th Street from Chew to Gordon Streets – scheduled for removal tonight

Hamilton Street Bridge – final cleanup scheduled for tonight

East side of 7th Street – scheduled for Thursday

Officials say roadways scheduled for snow clearing have been posted with no parking notices to allow crews to safely complete operations. Vehicles that remain in the posted no parking areas will be towed.

Beginning Monday, February 2 at 7 a.m., crews will begin snow cleanup operations in District 9. Crews will continue working through secondary streets and alleyways to improve travel conditions.

In partnership with the Allentown School District, snow is in the process of being removed from Ritter Elementary, Sheridan Elementary, and Central Elementary.

To assist residents during snow removal operations, the Allentown Parking Authority is offering free parking at the 940 Linden Street Parking Deck through 8 a.m. Monday, February 2. Standard parking rates will apply after that time.

Event parking rates will apply to vehicles entering the deck during the following times:

Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31 from 4-8 p.m.

Sunday, February 1 from 12-4 p.m.

Vehicles entering the deck before or after these times will not be charged.
