POTTER COUNTY, P.A. (WENY) — Earlier today, the Shapiro Administration announced a quartet of investments geared toward strengthening ATV trails and infrastructure in the Keystone State.

The Potter County ATV UTV Club is set to receive $205,100 to acquire around 61 acres of land within Keating Township to expand the existing ATV trail network.

“These grants expand safe, high-quality ATV opportunities and help support outdoor recreation and its role in strengthening and supporting rural economies across Pennsylvania,” remarked Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn. “We are eager to see the impact of these projects, and we urge organizations and municipalities to apply for the next grant round before the March 31 deadline.”

Last July, Governor Shapiro visited Potter County as part of a $162,461 grant announcement for the White Pine Country Store, Café & Lodge in order to replace and modernize its on-site gas pumps.

Elsewhere across the state, Mercer County Regional Planning Commission will gain $124,600 to perform a feasibility study on ATV trails in Mercer County.

Clarion County’s Piney Rail Riders is receiving $403,700 for bridge construction over the Little Piney Creek in Limestone Township.

Finally, Rock Run Recreation Area in Cambria and Clearfield counties is set to receive $749,978 to construct comfort stations, expand the trail network into Chest Township, and for various electrical utility upgrades.
