YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — Child care workers in Pennsylvania could get $450 bonuses, but the deadline is approaching.
Lawmakers earmarked $25 million for recruitment and retention bonuses for the state’s 55,500 licensed child care workers. To receive the funding, providers must fill out an application online before the Jan. 29 deadline.

Pennsylvania Department of Human Services leadership dropped by York Day Early Learning on Wednesday to encourage providers to apply.
“This center is going to be able to provide services 24 hours a day,” said Andrew Barnes, the department’s executive deputy secretary. “Sometimes we forget about those individuals that work on second shift and third shift, and they say, ‘What am I going to do with my children?’”
