People begin their boat tour of Penn's Cave on Aug. 9, 2026, in Gregg Township, Centre County, Pa., near Centre Hall, Pa. Penn's Cave is an all-water cavern, a historic 1,300-foot limestone show cave with tours by boat, which opened as a commercial show cave in 1885 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The site also includes the 1,400 acres of preserved land of a farm-nature-wildlife park bus tour which featuring bison, longhorn cattle, red and silver foxes, black bears, elk, whitetail deer, wild burros, mountain lions, and wolves. The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has proposals to acquire and maintain the property.
