The Democratic National Committee<\/a> (DNC) is ramping up its spending in the upcoming off-year elections in Virginia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania as polls tighten ahead of Election Day next month.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the committee announced it was investing an additional $500,000 into get-out-the-vote operations in Virginia and New Jersey, as well as the upcoming consequential state Supreme Court races in Pennsylvania.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The funds will go toward hiring and deploying staff in the three states, direct mail efforts, voter contact efforts and expanding reach to voter groups the party lost ground with in 2024, including Black, Latino, and Asian Pacific Islander voters.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The investments bring the DNC\u2019s total spend on the off-year elections to over $7 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In Virginia, the governor\u2019s mansion, lieutenant governor and attorney general offices are up for grabs, as well as the majority in the House of Delegates. In New Jersey, the governor\u2019s mansion, lieutenant governor\u2019s office, State Assembly and state Senate are all on the ballot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the polling average from The Hill\u2019s partners at Decision Desk HQ, former Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) leads Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears (R) in the state\u2019s gubernatorial race by 49.5 percent to 43.3 percent.<\/p>\n

Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.) leads Republican Jack Ciattarelli 48.6 percent to 44.6 percent in New Jersey, according to the DDHQ average.<\/p>\n

In Pennsylvania, three Democratic justices are up in November for what is called retention vote, which will decide whether they are granted new 10-year terms. Only one justice has failed a retention vote in the state\u2019s history, however Democrats say they are not taking any chances. <\/p>\n

Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) rolled out an ad last week in support of the three incumbent justices, warning \u201cthe threats to our freedoms are very real.\u201d<\/p>\n
