SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) \u2014 A Scranton man is facing felony charges after investigators say he helped a wanted fugitive avoid arrest for several months.<\/p>\n
According to the Scranton Police Department, Amir Joel Hunter, 22, was arrested following a joint investigation involving local detectives, the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force, and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The investigation focused on locating Joshua Kells Feliciano, 36, who was wanted on felony criminal charges.<\/p>\n
Police said investigators encountered Hunter on Jan. 20 at a location connected to Feliciano. During questioning, Hunter initially denied knowing that Feliciano was wanted. However, authorities said he later admitted he was aware of Feliciano\u2019s fugitive status after seeing media reports.<\/p>\n
Investigators believe Hunter and Feliciano traveled together throughout the Scranton area multiple times between November 2025 and January 2026. Police also said Feliciano told investigators that Hunter knowingly allowed him to stay at his residence on several occasions while he was evading law enforcement.<\/p>\n
Hunter has been charged with felony hindering apprehension or prosecution for allegedly harboring or concealing a fugitive. He was arraigned at the Lackawanna County Justice Center and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.<\/p>\n
