Winter is a season full of moments worth celebrating, from Valentine\u2019s Day<\/a> to birthdays and anniversaries. In February, we\u2019re encouraging everyone in the community to #lovelocal to mark those special occasions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWinter doesn\u2019t slow us down in Scranton,\u201d said Liz Baldi, business development director at Scranton Tomorrow<\/a>. \u201cOnce again, the community embraced our signature winter project, Downtown on Ice, earlier this month. Now we\u2019re ready to launch our #lovelocal campaign in February to keep the support local momentum rolling through spring.\u201d<\/p>\n

When you support local, you\u2019re giving twice \u2015 once to someone you love and again to your community. Here are few ways to do just that in Downtown Scranton:<\/p>\n

1. Give an experience gift. Treat someone you love to a night on the town in the Electric City! Dinner at a downtown restaurant<\/a> and tickets to a Broadway show<\/a>, live concert<\/a> or movie<\/a> makes a memorable gift for friends, family and loved ones.<\/p>\n

From jewelry and watches to clothing, accessories, books, art and home d\u00e9cor, downtown business owners are ready to help you select the perfect gift for your special someone.<\/p>\n

4. Give the gift of pampering. From hair and nail services to massages and facials, Scranton\u2019s salons and day spas<\/a> offer everything your special someone may need to look and feel their best this winter. Treat them to a gift card or fill a gift bag with specialty products they\u2019ll appreciate and use every day.<\/p>\n

5. Say it with a gift card. Gift cards are ideal for birthdays and thank you gifts. They\u2019re easy to wrap (or email!) and they are readily available at Downtown Scranton businesses.
