(WHTM)\u2013 Pennsylvanians will vote for Governor<\/a> this year, and the final piece of the puzzle is coming into focus as the top Republican candidate endorsed the latest Lt. Governor candidate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pennsylvania voters will elect a Lt. Governor<\/a> in a separate election in the May primary, and there are a couple of GOP candidates<\/a> for the job. However, the only Republican candidate for Governor, State Treasurer Stacy Garrity,<\/a> endorsed a candidate yesterday.<\/p>\n

Garrity endorsed 52-year-old candidate Jason Richey, an attorney from Pittsburgh and chairman of the Allegheny County Republicans, who ran for Governor four years ago but dropped out amidst a very crowded field.<\/p>\n

He said he had no intention of running two weeks ago but was recruited by donors and Garrity herself. So, he decided to jump in.<\/p>\n

Richey said that, facing a well-funded campaign from the incumbent doesn\u2019t make it any tougher; he and Garrity are focusing on the needs of Pennsylvanians.<\/p>\n

\u201cPennsylvanians can have a very simple choice. Dennis, do you want to hire someone for the next four years that every day he wakes up, the first thing he\u2019s going to think about is ;how do I become president of the United States? How can I get that vote in New Hampshire? How can I get that vote in Iowa?\u201d\u2018<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the other hand,\u201d Richey said, \u201cyou\u2019ve got two people and Stacy Garrity and Jason Richey, who are going to wake up every morning as governor and lieutenant governor and think about \u2018how can I make Pennsylvanians\u2019 lives better?’\u201d<\/p>\n

Before it\u2019s a Richey and Garrity ticket, he has to win the May primary. One of the other announced candidates, State Sen. Cris Dush, said he\u2019s evaluating with his team this weekend to decide whether or not to drop out.<\/p>\n

The statewide Republican meeting is next weekend, and it\u2019s possible they will endorse Richey, which could give him a boost.<\/p>\n

Lt. Governor Austin Davis (D) announced his reelection bid<\/a> alongside Governor Josh Shapiro earlier this month.<\/p>\n
