JESSUP, LACKAWANNA CO., (WOLF) \u2014 Despite near-zero temperatures, hundreds of people bundled up and gathered Sunday morning in Jessup for a chilly but cheerful first-ever community event centered around an unlikely weather prognosticator: Jessup Giuseppe. <\/p>\n
The fortune-telling ferret made his public debut before a large crowd, emerging to predict an early spring \u2014 a forecast that was met with applause, laughter, and plenty of phone cameras capturing the moment.<\/p>\n
Organizers said the idea was inspired by similar seasonal traditions seen across Pennsylvania and beyond, with the goal of creating a new local event that brings people together in the heart of winter. <\/p>\n
Sunday\u2019s turnout exceeded expectations, especially given the bitter cold. Temperatures hovered near zero as spectators packed the area, many arriving early to secure a good view of Giuseppe\u2019s prediction.<\/p>\n
