BELLEVUE, Pa. \u2014 It has been one year since Anna Montano opened the doors to Whisker Wonderland. The cat caf\u00e9 helps find new homes for its adoptable, furry felines. <\/p>\n
Channel 11 photojournalist Georgiann Roman talked to Montano about the welcomed new addition to help her with her mission of saving lives. <\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t believe it\u2019s been a whole year already,\u201d Montano tells Roman. \u201cIt feels like it has been two months, it\u2019s crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Montano said it was always a dream of hers to open a cat caf\u00e9, and she says it\u2019s been better than anything she could have imagined. <\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of people have been coming here just for a reprieve from everything that\u2019s going on in our world right now,\u201d Montano said. <\/p>\n
Montano tells Roman her cat caf\u00e9 is different from a lot of other cat lounges because of the creative, artsy feel. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s adorable, it\u2019s very colorful and the cats are all super cute,\u201d Michelle Cole of New Castle tells Roman while visiting. \u201cYou can tell it\u2019s really clean and they\u2019re really well cared for. They\u2019re all really happy.\u201d <\/p>\n
Montano said she has had 91 adoptions for her first year, which she said is amazing. Now she has a new surprise addition to her business: the Whisker Wagon. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a minivan that was painted by the same artist that did the work here,\u201d Montano added. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be my little rescue mobile. It will be a lot easier to transport cats, and I\u2019ll be able to transport more cats at one time.\u201d <\/p>\n
Montano said there are not as many laws to protect cats as there are for dogs, including allowing cats to be left out in extreme cold temperatures. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt makes it very difficult for all of us small rescuers who are out there trying to save them,\u201d Montano said. \u201cI always appreciate donations, I always appreciate just coming to visit. All of that is just going to go right back into saving more cats.\u201d <\/p>\n
