{"id":10318,"date":"2025-10-21T17:57:20","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T17:57:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/10318\/"},"modified":"2025-10-21T17:57:20","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T17:57:20","slug":"8-sanitary-sewer-mains-replaced-in-exeter-township-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/10318\/","title":{"rendered":"8 sanitary sewer mains replaced in Exeter Township"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pennsylvania American Water has completed replacing of eight sections of sanitary sewer main in Exeter Township.<\/p>\n<p>The mains are among 10 sections to be replaced as part of a $2.1 million project made possible via low-interest financing from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, officials said in a release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAging wastewater infrastructure significantly increases maintenance and operational costs,\u201d said Gerald DeBalko, engineering manager at Pennsylvania American Water. \u201cWith the low-interest financing from PENNVEST, we were able to perform this much needed work for the long-term benefit of the Exeter system and its customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The loan, at 1% interest for the first five years and 1.743% interest for the remainder of the 20-year loan period, was announced in October 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The work was performed this summer and about 1,815 feet of main and 18 manholes were replaced, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>PENNVEST provides low-interest loans and grants for new construction or for improvements to publicly or privately-owned drinking water, storm water or sewage treatment facilities, as well as nonpoint source pollution prevention best management practices.<\/p>\n<p>Originally Published: October 21, 2025 at 9:45 AM EDT<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Pennsylvania American Water has completed replacing of eight sections of sanitary sewer main in Exeter Township.
