A fatal crash in Syracuse is now being investigated by New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office.<\/p>\n
It started around 2:30 Tuesday morning on Avery Avenue. The Onondaga County Sheriff\u2019s Office says deputies were attempting to stop a stolen van that was fleeing. While turning onto Erie Boulevard, deputies say the driver of the van lost control and hit a telephone pole.<\/p>\n
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman that was in the car was ejected. She was taken to the hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n
The crash also knocked out power to nearby buildings, like the Onondaga Board of Elections.<\/p>\n
