Emanuel Manny Mavromatis, age 74, passed away on January 29, 2026, at Abington Manor Skilled Nursing, surrounded by his loving family and the compassionate staff who cared for him over the past five years.<\/p>\n
\nBorn and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Manny was the son of the late George and Frances Mavromatis. At just 17 years old, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country as a door gunner during the Vietnam War. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Susan, with whom he would share 55 years of marriage and build a devoted family. Manny spent many years working as a cable splicer and retired from Verizon after a long and steady career. Known for his strong work ethic, sharp sense of humor, and unmistakable stubborn streak, he was deeply devoted to his family above all else. He found joy in classic rock music, good food, and, most importantly, time spent with those he loved.<\/p>\n
\nHe is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Susan Mavromatis of Dickson City, Pennsylvania; his son, Christopher Mavromatis; his daughter, Gina Constantini, and her husband, Scott Constantini; and his cherished granddaughter, Alivia Constantini. Manny is also survived by his nieces, Tracy DiMattia and Jennifer Del Beni, and their families.<\/p>\n
