A man has died, officials said, after being pulled from an overnight rowhome fire in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood. <\/p>\n
According to fire officials, first responders were called to a fire at a two-story rowhome along the 5400 block of Regent Street in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood at about 1:39 a.m. on Wednesday to find heavy smoke pouring from the second floor of the property. <\/p>\n
At that time, firefighters pulled an injured man from the building and he was taken to a nearby hospital, but officials said, the man was pronounced shortly after arriving at the medical facility. <\/p>\n
Fire officials did not immediately provide further identifying information in the man who died in the the morning fire. <\/p>\n
However, four other people who were in the home when the fire began were able to make it out of the property safely, officials said. <\/p>\n
Fire crews were able to put the fire under control about 22 minutes after they arrived at the scene, officials said. <\/p>\n
Fire officials did not provide information on what may have caused the deadly fire. But, they said, an investigation into this incident is ongoing. <\/p>\n
