{"id":105342,"date":"2026-02-04T22:53:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T22:53:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/105342\/"},"modified":"2026-02-04T22:53:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T22:53:07","slug":"man-sold-guns-meth-to-undercover-bensalem-police-officer-pd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/105342\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Sold Guns, Meth To Undercover Bensalem Police Officer: PD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA \u2014 A 68-year-old township resident is in custody after attempting to sell firearms and methamphetamine, police said. <\/p>\n<p>Bensalem Police charged Charles Bowers with multiple felony offenses, including Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and related charges.<\/p>\n<p>Bowers was arraigned and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $750,000 bail. <\/p>\n<p>The Bensalem Township Police Department Special Investigations Unit received a tip late last month that Bowers was attempting to sell firearms and methamphetamine even though he was not allowed to possess firearms due to prior felony convictions. <\/p>\n<p>Police made an undercover purchase of two shotguns, a rifle, and methamphetamine. An undercover police officer met with Bowers at his home on Monday and completed the purchase.<\/p>\n<p>Later that day, Bowers was spotted driving a red Cadillac in the 2300 block of Bristol Road.
