{"id":106622,"date":"2026-02-06T03:05:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T03:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/106622\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T03:05:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T03:05:14","slug":"three-arrested-in-bucks-county-after-stealing-glp-1-weight-loss-drugs-near-pharmacy-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/106622\/","title":{"rendered":"Three arrested in Bucks County after stealing GLP-1 weight-loss drugs near pharmacy, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Two men and a 17-year-old boy are in custody after they allegedly assaulted a delivery driver and stole $16,000 worth of weight-loss drugs outside a pharmacy in <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/bucks-county\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bucks County<\/a>, Bensalem Township police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">On Wednesday, a delivery driver was dropping off two boxes containing the GLP-1 weight-loss medications Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Trulicity at the Smart Choice Pharmacy at 1941 Street Rd., Bensalem, when the \u201cstrong-arm robbery\u201d occurred, police said in a <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/crimewatch.net\/us\/pa\/bucks\/bensalem-pd\/15488\/post\/strong-arm-robbery-arrest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/crimewatch.net\/us\/pa\/bucks\/bensalem-pd\/15488\/post\/strong-arm-robbery-arrest\">news release.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The trio drove away in a gold Toyota, nearly striking a bystander recording the robbery on video, police said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">After 911 dispatchers were notified of the car\u2019s location, Bensalem Township police stopped the vehicle a few blocks away, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">Police said they found the boxes of stolen drugs in the car and arrested Joshua Dupree, 41, of Tamaqua, <a class=\"relative z-1 text-blue-mid hover:shadow-lightmode\" data-link-type=\"article-body\" href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/topic\/schuylkill\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Schuylkill<\/a> County; Jahnoi Dawkins, 21, of Albany, N.Y.; and a 17-year-old male from New York City. <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">\u201cFurther investigation revealed that the suspects, Dupree, Dawkins, and the juvenile male, had traveled from New York to commit the crime,\u201d police said. \u201cPharmacy staff reported that they had received suspicious phone calls and emails in the days leading up to the incident requesting information about the delivery order.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">The three were charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, and related offenses, police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inq-p text-primary  \">District Judge Michael Gallagher set bail at 10% of $150,000 for Dupree and of $250,000 for Dawkins; the men were taken to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
