{"id":106996,"date":"2026-02-06T13:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T13:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/106996\/"},"modified":"2026-02-06T13:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-02-06T13:46:09","slug":"center-city-bar-bans-customers-under-25-due-to-fake-id-surge-nbc10-philadelphia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/106996\/","title":{"rendered":"Center City bar bans customers under 25 due to fake ID surge \u2013 NBC10 Philadelphia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A bar in Center City Philadelphia is causing a stir after barring entry to anyone under 25.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/dirtyfranks.bar\/?hl=en\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dirty Franks<\/a> has started turning away younger crowds, blaming a surge in fake IDs for the new policy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inquirer.com\/food\/dirty-franks-25-years-old-age-limit-fake-ids-dive-bar-20260205.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Philadelphia Inquirer reports<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Owner Jody Sweitzer said the last straw was when someone tried to use a fake driver&#8217;s license featuring none other than Ben Franklin&#8217;s face.<\/p>\n<p>The fakes have gotten so convincing that even security staff are being fooled.<\/p>\n<p>Outside the popular drive bar, a sign now reads, &#8220;You must be 25 or older to enter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sweitzer claims they have had to raise the entry age to save their bar from being shut down.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A bar in Center City Philadelphia is causing a stir after barring entry to anyone under 25.
