Grayson Golek and Garnet Valley avenged a Jan. 23 home loss to Lower Merion with a convincing win in the first round of the Central League tournament Thursday night.<\/p>\n
Golek scored 22 points as the fourth-seeded Jaguars earned a 66-46 decision over the No. 5 Aces, who were the reigning league champs.<\/p>\n
Braden Quinn tossed in 14 points, while Luke Faccenda finished with 11 in his return after missing two weeks with an injury.<\/p>\n
Garnet Valley advanced to face top-seeded Penncrest in the semifinals Friday night. In the other quarterfinal, No. 6 Upper Darby fell to third-seeded Conestoga, 55-45. Conestoga moves on to take on No. 2 Springfield.<\/p>\n

Chester Charter Scholars Acacdemy 78, Faith Christian 67 >> Maurice Barnes produced 20 points and TJ Jones added 18 as the Sabers (16-6) ended the regular season on a high note. Next up for CCSA is the league tournament next week.<\/p>\n
Girls Basketball<\/p>\n
No. 3 Haverford erased an early deficit and outlasted No. 6 Marple Newtown, 31-28, in overtime Thursday in the opening round of the Central League tourney.<\/p>\n
Taylor Gleason scored a game-high 10 points, and Keira Hanson added nine as the Fords rallied again against the Tigers, who led 10-2 after the first quarter.<\/p>\n
It marked the second overtime meeting between the teams this season, with Haverford coming back to win both. The Fords advanced to face No. 2 Garnet Valley in Friday\u2019s semifinals.<\/p>\n
Rowan Hilden scored 10 points for the Tigers.<\/p>\n
Radnor 30, Springfield 22 >> Nyah Yao tallied 12 points and Bree Simpson added eight as the fifth-seeded Raptors knocked off the No. 4 Cougars. Radnor moves on to face top-seeded Conestoga in the semifinals.<\/p>\n
Lil DiTrolio led Springfield with eight points.<\/p>\n

Academy Park 47, Chichester 28 >> Saiyda Hooper accumulated 27 points to lead the Knights (6-16) in their season finale. Sianna Perkins added 11 for AP.<\/p>\n

Chester 54, Strath Haven 29 >> Imani Dorsey produced 26 points, 16 rebounds and five steals as the Clippers (18-4) handled the Panthers (2-20).<\/p>\n
Jordan Dennis finished with 17 points and three steals for the Del Val League champs.<\/p>\n
Emily Kerr scored nine for Strath Haven, and Kenzie Fanning had eight.<\/p>\n
