ALLENTOWN, Pa. –\u00a0A Lehigh County jury has convicted an Allentown man on multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit homicide, following a 2022 shooting that left one man dead.<\/p>\n
Xavier Grenon, 27, was\u00a0found guilty of conspiracy to commit criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, and one count of aggravated assault, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Grenon was charged in the Aug. 31, 2022 death of Najeer Lane, 22, of Allentown.<\/p>\n
Lane was a passenger in a car driven by Bless Jones, the DA’s Office said.<\/p>\n
Grenon and his co-defendants agreed to meet Jones at Trout Creek Park in Allentown.<\/p>\n
Officials say while enroute to the park, Jones and Lane were ambushed by Grenon and his co-defendants.<\/p>\n
During the ambush, 13 rounds were fired at the car from a handgun modified with a Glock switch, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
The Glock switch allows a semi-automatic handgun to fire as fully automatic and the 13 rounds were fired in approximately one second, according to officials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lane was killed at the scene of the shooting, but Jones escaped and drove to his home, authorities said.<\/p>\n
Less than one hour later, Grenon and his co-defendants arrived at that location and fired 12 rounds at Jones and a second person, missing both of them, according to the DA’s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Lane died from one gunshot wound to the back and his death was ruled a homicide by the Lehigh County Coroner, the DA’s Office said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Grenon was also convicted of the attempted murder of Jones.<\/p>\n
Grenon faces a maximum sentence of 60 years in state prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced at 9 a.m. on April 17, according to the Lehigh County DA’s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Also charged in these shootings is Frederick Antwan Marks Jr., 26, of Bath, according to authorities. Marks is awaiting trial and remains incarcerated.<\/p>\n
Legious Robert Minder Jr. was also charged in Lane\u2019s murder and the attempted murder of Jones.<\/p>\n
