From Reading Hospital \u2013 Tower Health<\/p>\n
Reading Hospital is looking for community members to volunteer for the No One Dies Alone (NODA) program, which ensures hospice patients do not spend their final moments alone.<\/p>\n
No One Dies Alone connects volunteers with Reading Hospital patients who are nearing the end of life. Volunteers receive comprehensive training and are asked only to offer their time and presence by sitting quietly with patients, reading to them, or simply offering a hand to hold.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one should have to spend their last moments without someone by their side,\u201d said Tina Figueroa, manager of volunteer services and spiritual care. \u201cThe work our volunteers do is deeply meaningful. Employees and community members give their time to provide comfort during someone\u2019s most vulnerable moments \u2013 and I think that speaks volumes about the type of care we offer here. I\u2019m very glad we could bring the program back.\u201d<\/p>\n
No One Dies Alone at Reading Hospital has a need for daytime volunteers between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.<\/p>\n
All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and present a Pennsylvania Criminal History Background Check. No medical or nursing skills are necessary.<\/p>\n
