SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 An art exhibit is now on full display in Scranton, showing off high school-aged students\u2019 creative abilities from our region. The Everhart Museum in Scranton received more than 500 pieces of artwork this year.<\/p>\n

The artwork was submitted by 40 schools across 15 counties.<\/p>\n

Students are recognized based on originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal vision.<\/p>\n

Event organizer\u2019s say they hope this yearly event creates the next generation of artists.<\/p>\n

According to the Scholastic Art Awards, five recipients of the top award will advance to the national level.<\/p>\n

There, they will be considered for the prestigious American Visions Award.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir artwork is the best in the region. They have truly captured art as an American vision of the country,\u201d Everhart Museum Visitors Services Supervisor Delmar Guziewicz explained.<\/p>\n

According to the Scholastic Art Awards, five recipients of the top award will advance to the national level. There, they will be considered for the prestigious American Visions Award.<\/p>\n
