Founded in Philadelphia on April 14, 1775, this was the first organized abolitionist society in the United States. The event at AAMP will feature \u201cOnce Upon a Nation\u201d storytellers who will recount the society\u2019s origin story \u2014 beginning with the efforts of Anthony Benezet and local Quakers to protect those illegally held in bondage. The program will explore the society\u2019s evolution under leaders like Benjamin Franklin and its role as a model for global human rights advocacy.
