The Everhart Museum in Scranton received more than 500 pieces of artwork this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The artwork was submitted by 40 schools across 15 counties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Students are recognized based on originality, technical skill, and the emergence of a personal vision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Event organizer\u2019s say they hope this yearly event creates the next generation of artists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a class=\"link  yahoo-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/skiers-face-cold-raise-funds-235616123.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Skiers face cold to raise funds for cancer patients;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Skiers face cold to raise funds for cancer patients <\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the Scholastic Art Awards, five recipients of the top award will advance to the national level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">There, they will be considered for the prestigious American Visions Award.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cTheir artwork is the best in the region. They have truly captured art as an American vision of the country,\u201d Everhart Museum Visitors Services Supervisor Delmar Guziewicz explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the Scholastic Art Awards, five recipients of the top award will advance to the national level.
