PennDOT<\/a> maintenance forces will conduct road work across Lehigh County<\/a> beginning Monday, Feb. 9, affecting travel on more than a dozen roadways through mid-February.<\/p>\n

The work includes crack sealing, brush cutting, pothole patching and bridge repair projects scheduled at various locations throughout the county. All projects will take place during daytime hours between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., with lane or shoulder restrictions in effect.<\/p>\n

Crack sealing operations will affect State Avenue and Lehigh Street in Allentown and Emmaus between Feb. 9 and Feb. 13. Work will require lane restrictions with flagging along multiple sections, including between Main Street and Saint John Street, and between South Sixth Street and Main Street.<\/p>\n

PennDOT will also conduct crack sealing on Route 29 between the Berks County line and Cedar Crest Boulevard in Lower Macungie and Emmaus on Feb. 9. Additional crack sealing is scheduled for Kings Highway between the Bucks County line and Chestnut Street in Lower Milford and Upper Milford townships from Feb. 9 through Feb. 13. Palm Road and Limeport Pike in Lower Milford Township will see similar work on Feb. 13.<\/p>\n

Brush cutting operations will take place on Old Post Road in North Whitehall Township between Routes 329 and 873 from Feb. 9 to Feb. 10. Werley\u2019s Corner Road will have brush cutting in two sections: between Route 863 and Mountain Road in Heidelberg Township, and between Routes 863 and 100 in Lowhill Township, both running Feb. 9 through Feb. 13.<\/p>\n

Pothole patching is scheduled for Hamilton Boulevard in Lower Macungie Township between Weiler\u2019s Road and Route 222 from Feb. 9 to Feb. 13. Similar work will occur on Route 100 in Upper Macungie Township between Industrial Boulevard and Trexlertown Road during the same period.<\/p>\n

Bridge repair work will affect Hill Top Road in Upper Saucon Township between the Berks County line and Mertztown Road from Feb. 11 to Feb. 13, with lane restrictions and flagging in place. Route 309 in Upper Saucon Township will have a shoulder restriction between Memorial Road and Mountain Road on Feb. 9 and Feb. 10.<\/p>\n

Rain will not cause delays to any of the scheduled projects.<\/p>\n

Motorists can check road conditions by visiting www.511PA.com<\/a>. The free service operates 24 hours a day and provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
