EMMAUS, Pa. – A destination for locally brewed stouts, IPAs and other beers will soon end operations in Lehigh County.<\/p>\n

Weyerbacher Brewing Co.\u2019s Emmaus Taproom, at 518 Bank St. in Emmaus, will close its doors on March 29, according to an online announcement.<\/p>\n

Weyerbacher\u2019s primary taproom and production space, a 30,000-square-foot facility at 905 Line St. on Easton\u2019s South Side, and Weyerbacher\u2019s Allentown Taproom & Biergarten<\/a> at 448 N. 17th St. will continue to operate as normal.<\/p>\n

Weyerbacher\u2019s Emmaus Taproom announced its upcoming closure on the business\u2019 social media pages.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis decision was not ours,\u201d the online post reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur lease will not be renewed, and despite our best efforts, our hands are tied. It\u2019s a tough moment for all of us who have poured time, energy, and love into making this taproom a true community home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weyerbacher\u2019s Emmaus Taproom opened in June 2024<\/a> in space that was previously home to Yergey Brewing and Funk Brewing.<\/p>\n

Yergey moved to a larger space at 235 Main St. in Emmaus in 2021, and Funk moved its taproom back to its redesigned brewery at 19 S. Sixth St. in Emmaus in 2024.<\/p>\n

Weyerbacher\u2019s Emmaus Taproom offers the brewery\u2019s award-winning craft beers on draft and in cans and bottles.<\/p>\n

Staple beers include Merry Monks (Belgian tripel), Blithering Idiot (barleywine ale), Quad (Belgian quadrupel) and Tiny (imperial stout).<\/p>\n

Other popular varieties include Last Chance IPA (American IPA), Double Simcoe (imperial IPA) and Wit (Belgian witbier).<\/p>\n

The taproom also hosts entertainment, including trivia, karaoke and live music performances, along with rotating food trucks.<\/p>\n

Seasonal outdoor seating also is available.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Within an hour of its posting, the closing announcement garnered more than 100 reactions and comments, primarily from community members lamenting the upcoming closure.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a disappointment!\u201d one person stated. \u201cAlways loved going there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVery sad this has become a weekly stop for my wife and I,\u201d another person commented.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are sad to hear this,\u201d another person stated. \u201cMy husband’s favorite brewery and so close to us. We love taking our dog there too. I hope there is another location you will open in the area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Weyerbacher celebrated its 30th anniversary<\/a> last summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Savant Beverages LLC, under CEO Ed Lozano, purchased the beermaker in 2022.<\/p>\n

“We’ve got a lot of customers who are really rooting for us, and I think that’s what has helped us get to the 30th anniversary,” Lozano told 69 News last year, “because if those customers didn’t come back, we wouldn’t be celebrating our 30th anniversary.”<\/p>\n
