{"id":109853,"date":"2026-02-10T06:57:18","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T06:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/109853\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T06:57:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T06:57:18","slug":"susquehanna-county-man-impersonated-fire-captain-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/109853\/","title":{"rendered":"Susquehanna County man impersonated fire captain, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SCRANTON<\/p>\n<p>A Montrose man faces charges after troopers said he fraudulently posed as a fire captain.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers responded to Interstate 81 northbound on Jan. 29 around\u00a06:58 p.m. for the report of a suspicious person and found a male posing as a fire captain with the Snake Creek Fire Company of Susquehanna County, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p>The male \u2013 identified as Samuel Rodriguez-Ramos \u2014 used red and\u00a0blue strobing lights while interacting with a motorist, troopers said.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators learned Rodriguez-Ramos was not a member of the Snake Creek Fire Company, that he never served as a captain, and that the Snake Creek Fire Company had been disbanded and de-certified since April, according to the news release.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Rodriguez-Ramos had methamphetamine in his possession, troopers said.<\/p>\n<p>Police charged Rodriquez-Ramos, 47, with impersonating a public servant, drug possession, operating under a DUI suspended license and related offenses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"SCRANTON A Montrose man faces charges after troopers said he fraudulently posed as a fire captain.
