They are on snow, and a few people look on from the background.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>An adaptive ski instructor with Two Top Mountain Adaptive Sports Foundation guides Takeria Brown as they prepare to descend the hill at Whitetail Resort during Adaptive Ski Day on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>For nine Penn State Health rehabilitation patients recovering from traumatic injuries \u2013 including spinal cord injury and amputation \u2013 Feb. 6 offered a different kind of therapy. Adaptive Ski Day at Whitetail Resort in Mercersburg, Pa., brought them to the slopes for a full day of skiing and snowboarding using specialized adaptive equipment, surrounded by cheers from family, friends and care teams.<\/p>\n<p>February 9, 2026Penn State Health News\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The event was a collaborative effort of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pennstatehealth.org\/services-treatments\/physical-medicine-rehabilitation\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation<\/a> at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Two Top Mountain Adaptive Sports Foundation and Ability Ottobock.care.
