A New York resident has won the top prize in the New York Lottery\u2019s Million Dollar Raffle, officials announced Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Shaurna Walters, a Jamaica, Queens, resident, claimed the $1,000,000 prize as one of 15 winners selected in the promotional raffle. <\/p>\n
After required withholdings, Walters received a lump sum payment of $612,247.<\/p>\n
The winning ticket was purchased at J&E Dynamic Store, located in Jamaica. <\/p>\n
The raffle commemorated the bicentennial of the Erie Canal.<\/p>\n
Lottery officials reported that other top-prize winning tickets were distributed across multiple regions of the state, including Chenango, Dutchess, Genesee, New York, Schenectady, Suffolk and Westchester counties.<\/p>\n
