READING, Pa. – Santander Arena the venue for four BCIAA boys and girls semifinal round basketball games on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
In the girl’s bracket, No. 2 Governor Mifflin and No. 3 Exeter squaring off in the early game with the Eagles turning the tables on a Mustang squad that had defeated them 64-43 in mid-January.<\/p>\n
Lillie Keperling and Addison Harper combining for 29 points as Exeter defeats Gov. Mifflin 46-40 to reach their first county title game since 1977.<\/p>\n
On deck in the boy’s bracket, top-seeded Berks Catholic takes on No. 5 Exeter. Even though the Saints reached a PIAA championship game a year ago, they have not won a county title since 2018.<\/p>\n
Game three will feature the top-seeded Wilson girls against No. 4 Reading at 7 p.m. The Red Knights are the defending champs but lost to the Bulldogs 54-44 in mid-December.<\/p>\n
The evening caps off with No. 2 Muhlenberg boys against No. 3 Reading. The Mules defeated Reading 71-68 on December 11 but are going up against a program with plenty of pedigree as the Knights own 25 BCIAA crowns.<\/p>\n
“I think, is there a good opportunity for us, said Reading senior Weshly Rosario. “Because we’re just getting better like a team right now. We’ve been together the last ten games I think, and we are working for this. We want this.”<\/p>\n
Muhlenberg players are also embracing the opportunity.<\/p>\n
“It’s the battle the border to be honest,” said Mules junior Nelson Malave. “We’ve been working as you see right now working hard and trying to get better.”<\/p>\n
