The Animal Rescue League of Berks County has been nominated for a 2025 Snippy Award<\/a> in the Dual Impact Champion category for organizations that excel in both lifesaving adoption outcomes and proactive prevention efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy uniting adoption excellence with prevention, the Dual Impact Champion sets the bar for community lifesaving: streamlined shelter pathways, high adoption conversion, and a steadfast commitment to ensuring pets leave \u2014 and stay out of \u2014 the shelter system,\u201d the Snippy Award nomination guidelines stated.<\/p>\n

The nominations were open to client of Clinic HQ<\/a>, a veterinary office spay\/neuter appointment software management system, and Shelterluv<\/a>, a pet adoption and fundraising site.<\/p>\n

The prize is $5,000 and there are nine other shelters\/clinics from across the country nominated in the category. The winner will be announced at 1 p.m. on Feb. 24, which is World Spay Day<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to be nominated for a Snippy Award,\u201d said Ashley Mikulsky, ARL CEO. \u201cThis recognition highlights the balance our team works hard to achieve every day, placing pets into adoptive homes at a high rate while also sustaining a strong spay\/neuter program that prevents future shelter intake. Our continued growth in TNR, spay\/neuter, and wellness services over the past two years reflects our commitment to serving the community with accessible, affordable care that drives real, lasting impact.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2025, the ARL spayed and neutered 1,833 animals owned by the public, plus 1,829 animals taken into the Cumru Township shelter. There were 1,178 trap, neuter, vaccinate, return services for cats, bringing the total sterilizations up to 4,840, according to Alyssa Budock, the ARL\u2019s media and communication manager.<\/p>\n

She said there were 546 wellness clinics for public-owned animals and 325 vaccine clinic appointments held in 2025.<\/p>\n

The total number of adoptions at the ARL in 2025 was 1,941, Budock said.<\/p>\n

Providence Animal Center Mobile Clinic<\/a> in Media, Delaware County, was nominated for a Mobile\/MASH Unit Impact Award, which \u201ccelebrates a team that turns limited resources into limitless impact, proving that with the right blend of grit, skill, and compassion, prevention truly has no boundaries\u201d according to the Snippy Awards. Fix\u2019N Wag\u2019N Mobile Clinics<\/a> in Glenshaw, Allegheny County also is nominated in that category. That award is a $5,000 prize, which is sponsored by Medco Instruments.<\/p>\n

The York County SPCA Spay\/Neuter Clinic<\/a> and The Nobody\u2019s Cats Foundation<\/a> in Camp Hill, Cumberland County, are among 10 organizations nominated for the Community Cat Champion Snippy Award.
