Veterinary staff in Philadelphia are on a desperate search for kittens after someone abandoned their nursing mother at their hospital\u2019s doorstep.<\/p>\n
Fishtown Animal Hospital reports that on Wednesday, February 12, 2026, a woman left a cat outside their clinic with a note explaining she believed the cat was pregnant.<\/p>\n
Once inside, the staff quickly realized the cat was not pregnant at all, but was actively nursing and producing milk.<\/p>\n
“This was not a heroic act. She is a nursing mother. By leaving without speaking to our team, you took a mother away from her babies \u2014 and gave us no information about where they are. She is not pregnant she is a nursing mom who just had kittens,” the hospital wrote in a social media post. <\/p>\n
The hospital is asking the woman, or anyone who knows her, to call and reveal the kittens’ location so they can be rescued.<\/p>\n
The hospital warns that without their mother, the kittens\u2019 chances of survival are slim.<\/p>\n
“If you kept the kittens and discarded the mother, that is equally devastating.
