(WNYT) \u2014 Two businesses\u00a0in Bethlehem\u00a0have had to evacuate\u00a0because of unstable ground.<\/p>\n<p>Bethlehem\u00a0Town Attorney Jim Potter said the property at 55 Delaware Ave., which is home to Jiffy Lube and Hoffman\u2019s Car\u00a0Wash, had to be vacated on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>There has been a crack in the parking area for over a year, closer to the slope of the property, according to Potter. A geotechnical engineer has said the slope is borderline unstable. There is a concern that additional rain could lead to the slope becoming unstable.<\/p>\n<p>Hoffman\u2019s is going to have their engineer look at data pertaining to the slope, according to Potter.<br \/>If the slope fails, there is a question of how much of the parking lot will be affected, Potter said.
