MANHEIM TWP., Pa. (WPVI) — The National Transportation Safety Board is blaming a plane crash in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on pilot distraction and the plane being over the weight limit.<\/p>\n

New video was released in the report showing the small plane burst into flames in a parking lot<\/a> in a Manheim Township retirement community last March.<\/p>\n

5 injured but ‘everybody survives’ after small plane crashes in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania<\/p>\n

Five people on the plane were injured when the aircraft went down.<\/p>\n

The NTSB concluded the preliminary cause is the pilot’s failure to maintain “adequate airspeed after takeoff” because the cabin door had suddenly opened.<\/p>\n

The plane was also packed about 500 pounds above the maximum gross takeoff weight.<\/p>\n
