{"id":114285,"date":"2026-02-15T00:12:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T00:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/114285\/"},"modified":"2026-02-15T00:12:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T00:12:17","slug":"decomposing-body-found-inside-mattress-in-upper-darby-pennsylvania-death-ruled-suspicious","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/114285\/","title":{"rendered":"Decomposing body found inside mattress in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania ; death ruled suspicious"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao MvWXB TjIXL aGjvy ebVHC \">UPPER DARBY, Pennsylvania  (WPVI) &#8212; Detectives are investigating after a woman&#8217;s decomposing body was found inside a mattress in Upper Darby, Delaware County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Authorities say the female victim&#8217;s body was discovered in a residential rear alley along the 7000 block of Greenwood Avenue, near Church Lane.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Paramedics were initially called to the scene around midnight Monday for a medical response.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">They arrived to find the unidentified body in an alley area behind a row of twin homes, just steps away from a playground.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Police said the medical examiner determined the body is that of a white woman and ruled the death suspicious.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Additional testing will need to be done to determine the cause of death, but there was no evidence of blunt force trauma.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Investigators said they don&#8217;t currently have any missing persons reported in Upper Darby.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">Anyone with information is asked to call police.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
