The Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a> are among the favorites to land former NFL quarterback Derek Carr<\/a> if he decides to come out of retirement. <\/p>\n

Bookies.com <\/a>put together a hypothetical list of odds Carr\u2019s return, with the Steelers at the top of the list with +450, while Carr remaining retired is still the favorite. The Minnesota Vikings are second with +550 odds. <\/p>\n

Carr was never officially released by the New Orleans Saints, but vetted teams before deciding he wanted to walk away from the NFL after pending surgery.<\/p>\n

Now, a year later, Carr has been coming up in reports that he could return. On his podcast<\/a>, Carr said he would open to returning to the NFL, but needs a specific set of circumstances.<\/p>\n

\u201cWould I do it? Yes. Would I do it for anybody? Absolutely not,\u201d Carr said<\/a>. \u201cWould I do it. Absolutely, I would. I told you two things: I have to be healthy, and I\u2019d want a chance to win a Super Bowl. And obviously, that\u2019s a tough thing to find. That\u2019s hard to do. That\u2019s not easy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carr retired after suffering a shoulder injury that would need surgery, likely costing him the entire 2025 season. Instead of going through that surgery, Carr opted to retire and walk from the NFL after 11 seasons as a signal-caller.<\/p>\n

Now healthy, Carr seems to be at least pondering a return to football and looking around the NFL landscape. The Steelers\u2019 top interest remains in Aaron Rodgers, who was the team\u2019s quarterback throughout all of 2025.<\/p>\n
