Chris Glenn had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers. John Lyons had 16 points for the Knights. \u2026 Mark Sakson scored 29 points, and Bill Celuck added 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead Valley View to a 71-48 win over Mid Valley, as the Cougars captured the Lackawanna League Northern Division title. Shaun Zuraski had 20 points for the Spartans. \u2026 Mark Sadowski\u2019s third 3-pointer of the game with 1:52 remaining allowed Abington Heights to spoil Bishop Hannan\u2019s comeback and notch a 68-65 win in Lackawanna League Southern Division play. The Golden Lancers rallied from an 18-point halftime deficit to tie the game at 65. Mike Manning led the Comets with 23 points, while Sadowski had 18. Pat Grendel paced Bishop Hannan with 18 points. \u2026 Kevin Walsh scored 20 points and Brian Costanzo added 12 to lift Dunmore past West Scranton, 66-47. Joe Sparacino led the Invaders with 15 points.<\/p>\n<p>20 years ago<\/p>\n<p>Arielle Pruzinsky hit shots at the first- and second-quarter buzzers to lead No. 6 Lakeland to a 59-44 win over No. 11 Hanover Area in the opening round of the District 2 Class AA girls basketball playoffs. Pruzinsky, who came into the matchup averaging 7.3 points per game, had 11 of her 15 points in the first half. Trina Carito had a game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Lady Chiefs. \u2026 Whitney Williams had seven of her 25 points in the fourth quarter as 12th-seeded Mountain View upset No. 5 Wyoming Seminary, 46-35, in the District 2 Class AA first round. Erika Lewis had six of her eight points during the game-ending 19-8 surge that propelled the Lady Eagles to the quarterfinals. \u2026 Jess Plisko had 28 points, and Jenn King added 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead No. 3 Riverside to a 66-29 victory over No. 14 Lackawanna Trail in the District 2 Class AA first round. Mari Dwyer had nine points for the Lady Lions. \u2026 Sarah Fife had 22 points as eighth-seeded Old Forge beat No. 9 Susquehanna, 59-51, in the District 2 Class A first round. Jennifer Mason added 14 for the Lady Devils.<\/p>\n<p>10 years ago<\/p>\n<p>Riverside scored the first 15 points and never looked back, as the No. 7 Lady Vikes beat No. 10 GAR, 58-40, in the first round of the District 2 Class AA girls basketball playoffs. Lizzy Spindler led Riverside with 29 points, and Shelby Slaboda added 12 points. \u2026 Mikenna Walsh led four Carbondale Area players in double figures with 18 points, helping the ninth-seeded Chargerettes to a 55-32 victory over No. 8 Northwest Area in the first round of the District 2 Class AA playoffs.
